(November 2011) Cassi is doing well and getting a lot of new experiences. We recently came back from Toronto were we had a great time visiting Mikes parents who fell in love with Cassi. Their home backs out on once of the best off leash trails so we had fun walking everyday.  Cassi was admired everywhere went and I told them all about you and how you breed and raise great dogs.  She has figured out how to play with the other dogs both big and small. She also has gotten used to walking in the city especially when there are stores on
our walk that have treats for her like Books on Beechwood & Pet Valu.

From Galena Magnolia’s family in Gatineau

(May 2011 - The day after going home.) Galena is doing great. She is smelling every dried leaf, stick and flower in the yard. She ate well and hasn't whined at all so far. She follows her brother everywhere and sometimes teases him to play. When that happens we have to supervise Carny not to play too rough because he still need to learn his strength. However, I foresee that she will be the boss when she gets bigger... Galena goes through the fence into the playroom to eat. and Carny can't get in (he would eat 3 times a day too... in his sister's bowl..). Galena stole some dried food from Carny's bowl. He stayed back and watched with a protective look.

When Carny cleans himself, she does too. She walks often beside her big brother. When he shakes his head she does too. I caught them drinking in the same bowl together like good friends without any growls. They sleep together, eat together, play together ... stick together 99% of the time.

I have an Ex-military back injury and a shoulder one too from home renovations. I don't how she guessed that but when I'm taking a nap, she lays on my injuries and warms them, ... on her own. Carny does it a bit too, but not as much as Galena. She is really smart.

(September 2011) I thought I would share some pictures of Teddy since he turned six months old yesterday. To celebrate we took him down to Crescent Beach for his first swim in the ocean. He wasn't so sure about getting completely wet but once I went out up to my thighs and called him in he readily came. Although once he reached me he did try to climb up into my arms, soaking me as a result. He had a lovely afternoon exploring, chasing bits of seaweed caught up in his extra long leash and barking at the mounds of sand made by the crabs when they burrow. Teddy is very social and wants to meet all the dogs in the neighbourhood. He has had play dates with Porter, a Portuguese Water Dog, and Charlie, some sort of terrier, both who live a few houses down. We are continuing to take him to work, which I think he finds a bit boring but is willing to put up with if he is with his people. A couple of weeks ago my boss, who was not too pleased with me bringing him to the office, said that he thinks Teddy has been good for our office and he quite likes him. I consider this a miracle since previously he thought all dogs should be stuffed. Teddy weighs between 20 - 21 lbs and stands about 17" at the shoulder (as near as we can figure since he doesn't stand still very often). His size makes him a rather large lapdog but I must admit I do love having him sit with me and I think he likes it too.  He is walking well on his leash, is good at sit, shake, down and playing dead. However, we are still working on him coming when called, jumping up and a bit of barking (which is really hard to correct when our neighbour's dog barks incessantly).  We recently hosted my sister's 50th birthday party and he did very well with 24 people in our little house. He is a joy and we love him to bits.

(May 2011 - First week after going home) Teddy is doing well.  Last night he complained for a little while when we put him in his crate at bedtime but settled down in a couple of minutes. When we woke up in the morning he just played with his stuffie until he realized we were awake too.  He is following us around and lays down on Dana's feet every time Dana stands still for a few minutes. They are outside playing now.

Thanks for a great little pup: I can tell he has been well cared for.

From Sapphire’s family at Upside Down Labradoodles in Holland

(January 2011) All is well here. Sapphire is such a sweet puppy, a true darling dog. First she followed Eelco anywhere and now me :-) I am her surrogate mom.

(February 2011) I decided to place Sapphire with my friends Liesbeth and her family. They already taking very good care of Abby for over a year now (my miniature girl from Starline Labradoodles) and they love her to bits. They vist us and Abby and Sapphier becaome instant best friends... To make a long story short, Abby and Sapphire get along so well! I decided that it was best for Sapphire to have her own playmate. Liesbeth and Romald also have 4 children , two older ones but also a 15 and 9 year old girl who loves to play with Sapphire and Abby.

They (Abby & Sapphire) look so much alike, Sapphire has a really good energy, very obedient in the house and playful outside! They attend dog classes this month also

From Zircon's family in Ottawa

(November 2010) Zircon has adjusted just fine into our family. He has slept through the night since day one, from 10 pm to 6 or 6h30. You have done a great job at crate training him because he goes in it without any fuss. He is also using the bell to go pee outside but I think he is starting to figure out that he can ring it if he just feels like going to play outside as well. I would say that he is 90% housetrained. He is very responsive to our commands and just a happy and adorable puppy. I think he will be very easy to train. He loves to play but can also be very calm. He loves to just cuddle by our feet near the couch or underneath our chair in the kitchen. He also passed his first vet checkup with flying colors. Anybody interested in any of the three pups left from this litter can't go wrong. You have bred good little pups.

(February 2011 - a few days after going home) Carni is doing great!  I was afraid he would miss his mother, but no. No whining. He's very curious, exploring and discovering the world. He adopted his new bed, made of sheep fur. He is such a good dog, always either on us or at arm’s length near us. He's not pulling when we walk with him, he loves the couch. Nothing is too good for him... lol

From Jasper’s family in Ottawa (now known as Oliver)

(January 2011 - a week after going home) I thought you and the kids might want to see a few pictures of Oliver, he is a sweet dood. He is still very nervous of other people, my Dad has been visiting for a week and Oliver took 4 days before he would let my dad pet him and then he only lets him when I am in the room.

He is teething and doing very well chewing on his toys and not my furniture :) He really likes playing outside. We go for 2-4 walks a day. Tomorrow I can start taking him to dog parks since his vaccinations will have settled.  He loves playing fetch and is very good at it. I took him to get his bangs cut since I couldn't see his eyes and part of the training I am doing with him we have to make eye contact and I couldn't tell if he was looking at me.

He is a little love muffing :) I am so happy I found him :)

(later in January) Oliver is a natural model - when I get the camera out he always looks at me and tilts his head from side to side. :)

We have gone to the dog park twice and he is getting used to playing with the other dogs. He seems especially happy to play with Labradors and Golden Retrievers. He still isn't fond of people but we are working on that each day.

He really likes having his tummy rubbed and every night I brush him, clean his eyes and brush his teeth before bed, it really seems to relax him and get him ready for a good night sleep.

(December 2011) Seasons Greetings from Winnipeg! We hope all is well with your family. Boomer has had a busy year. He was in agility class twice a week from the spring until fall. He will continue in a weekly class for the winter. He was recently in his second fun show where he placed in 3 out of the 4 classes I entered him in( 2 seconds and 1 third place) . I will get him registered in all of the necessary associations and then next year we are off to try some real trials. I will keep you posted.

(August 2010) Boomer is doing great! He has completely fit in with our family and we all love him so much. He is such a loving and smart dog. He really enjoyed his first camping experience this summer. He had his first introduction to the water and he enjoyed splashing around in the water. He enjoys weekly play at a daycare. He is considered to be a social butterfly that plays well with all the other dogs. They love him there! And that says alot because not all dogs are accepted to the daycare. He has his level 2 obedience and has started training in agility. The trainer often comments how good he is for a dog his age. He picks things up so fast. She often says that we must be practicing between classes but in fact we don't. I just have to show him a few times and he just "gets it". He is an amazing dog. I would like to do agility trials with him in the future. The kids have not bored of him and still love to play/walk him. He is a little wary of strange men. Im not sure where that comes from. He is only about 20lbs now but he is not a huge eater.

(December 2009) Seasons greetings from the W. family. Boomer [Opal's new name] is doing very well and he is fitting in well with our family. We had an extended fall with beautiful weather. Perfect for house training! We finally have some snow (and cold),but with a new jacket and booties Boomer is all set for his long walks in the park.

From Diamond's family in Quebec (now known as Rusty)

(June 2010) Diamond à changé de nom pour Rusty! Il est tellement adorable, nous l'aimons beaucoup. Comme il aura bientôt un an, il commence à devenir plus sage. Tous les mois, il va chez le toiletteur et il aime beaucoup se faire laver et brosser. Il est très affectueux,enjoué et il adore jouer dehors. Nous habitons sur le bord de l'eau avec un grand terrain. Nous avions déjà un petit chien (shnauzer miniature) et les deux s'amusent beaucoup ensemble.

La chose qui est certaine c'est que si nous avons un nouveau chien, ce sera un Labradoodle. Ils sont trop mignons et trop gentils.

(English translation) Diamond has a new name - Rusty! He is so adorable, we love him a lot. He'll soon be a year old and is starting to behave better. Every month he goes to the groomer and loves to be brushed and washed. He is very affectionate, active, and loves to play outside. We live next to the water with a large yard. We already had a little dog (miniature schnauzer) and the two of them get along famously.

If we ever get another dog it will definitely be a Labradoodle. They are too cute and so sweet.
